Summary

From New York Times best-selling author Lexi Ryan, Cruel Prince meets A Court of Thorns and Roses in this sexy, action-packed fantasy about a girl who is caught between two treacherous faerie courts and their dangerously seductive princes。

Brie hates the Fae and refuses to have anything to do with them, even if that means starving on the street。 But when her sister is sold to the sadistic king of the Unseelie court to pay a debt, she'll do whatever it takes to get her back—including making a deal with the king himself to steal three magical relics from the Seelie court。

Gaining unfettered access to the Seelie court is easier said than done。 Brie's only choice is to pose as a potential bride for Prince Ronan, and she soon finds herself falling for him。 Unwilling to let her heart distract her, she accepts help from a band of Unseelie misfits with their own secret agenda。 As Brie spends time with their mysterious leader, Finn, she struggles to resist his seductive charm。

Caught between two dangerous courts, Brie must decide who to trust with her loyalty。 And with her heart。

Comparing These Hollow Vows to The Cruel Prince and ACOTAR is pretty unfounded。 These Hollow Vows was in no way as good as those it is being compared to。 It read like ACOTAR fan fiction most of the time。 I’m all for faerie trash, but this book was just stupid at times。Abriella was a very annoying main character。 The emphasis on her being so special was tiresome。 We got it, ok? I really enjoyed it。 Went on a roller coaster ride of emotions but most of it was me yelling。 I didn’t think I would find a character I hated more while reading than I did with Chaol。 But I just found them

I am MAD。 Bro this book。 In the beginning I was so annoyed at how oblivious this character was and how easily persuaded she was (I mean, never got over that really)。 But then getting to the end of this book, I could not believe how obvious and deceptive this whole book was in the process of getting to the finish line。 I screamed at this book so many times because the main girl is an idiot and could not see the deceptions right in front of her when she's literally this great thief。 I kept hoping I am MAD。 Bro this book。 In the beginning I was so annoyed at how oblivious this character was and how easily persuaded she was (I mean, never got over that really)。 But then getting to the end of this book, I could not believe how obvious and deceptive this whole book was in the process of getting to the finish line。 I screamed at this book so many times because the main girl is an idiot and could not see the deceptions right in front of her when she's literally this great thief。 I kept hoping she would catch on, but she made all of the poor decisions I thought she would。 So why 4 stars? Because this book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions。 I may have seen what was happening a mile away and was annoyed at her most of the time, but it was such a different experience then I expected when I picked up this book。 Usually, there are so many plot twists that I can't see coming in a book, but with this, and having her make all of the obviously wrong decisions, it was REAL (or as real as fantasy can be haha)。 In her position, it made sense why she thought the way she did and chose the paths she chose。 And that's also why I'm so mad。 Not because it was a bad or poorly written book, but because all of those decisions were so wrong that all I could do was throw the book across the room because I don't have the second book to tell me how all of this crap gets cleaned up。 Now I'm invested and need to see her redeem herself in the second book。 Thanks for listening to my rant。 。。。more

Loved this! Reminded me of A court of thorns and roses。 The romance/love triangle was SO good, Sometimes with romance scenes I have *eye roll* moments because they don’t flow well, but these were well-written and not corny at all。 On an illicit factor maybe a 4/10 compared to other books with the actual DETAIL of the scenes, but it felt so steamy。 I stayed up until 3am finishing it because I was so invested in the book! Read read read。

Ngl, I love the cover! The plot was binge worthy and elaborate。 I am very easy to please, and actually didn't mind the love triangle。 Although there is some info dumping, the world building itself is unique and vivid。 I would recommend this for fans of the Iron Fey series。 Ngl, I love the cover! I DNF"d this book at about 50%。 Not because the writing was bad, but because I've felt as though I've read this story a hundred times before。 The main character is very unlikeable and has "I'm not like other girl" vibes (I mean, what is so wrong with being like other women? This trope/trait feels very misogynistic and we should stop promoting MCs with this mindset。) The Fae don't feel like Fae at all! Which btw is understandable given her character's story but the questioning just got me a bit miffed like just make a goddamn decision already。 I would of liked to see more of her "thieving" side of things but hopefully we get more of that in book two perhaps and overall she was still a strong character。 Sebastian - I just could never trust the guy and I cannot say more without ruining the book for others, BUT the crowning glory has to go to Finn, I would kneel down to him on many occasions because he is just *chef's kiss* What is it with these dark, brooding, fae males that we just fall for them so damn easily! WHAT IS IT!? But Finn gets all my points guys, clearlyBut despite all of those point mentioned above, I really really loved this book and wished that I did not have to wait an eternity for the next one because this blew my expectations out of the water and I am so glad my two besties lovingly forced my hand into buying it。 NOW GO BUY IT! 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an eARC of this book in return for an honest review! This book had me absolutely smitten, I devoured it within 2 sittings as I just didn’t want to pull myself away。 With the premise starting off very ‘cinderella’ vibes - an orphaned girl, a cruel aunt and two mean cousins - then add in a sprinkle of magic, a love triangle you can’t say no to and an adventure to save a stolen sister, this book has everything you need to keep you encapsulated。Our main Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an eARC of this book in return for an honest review! That ending left me pining), but I can say it solidly reaches the list of my top books for 2021 so far。 Perfect for fans of ACOTAR! 。。。more

Now, I sort of liked him。 He was slightly more interesting than Sebastian。 But for some reason, he still just didn’t appeal to me。 I kept hoping that (although impossible) by some miracle, this book would introduce a third love interest that I would adore。 But no, sadly。I was interested in the plot at the beginning。 Likeable main character (so far), stealing from kings, sister gets taken, now she’s traveling into a new world。 Cool, right? APPARENTLY NOT。 After that, I slowly and slowly got more and more bored with the book in general。 Which I was upset about since people said that this book was a mix of the Cruel Prince and ACOTAR。 I am sorry but I just did not see it at all, besides the love triangle that these three books have in common。And the ending? What happened? All of a sudden she’s just “I am darkness 😍” “I will leave this place” But weren’t you just kissing and hugging with Sebastian two chapters ago?? I’ve probably missed something but everything happened just too quickly。Anyway, I’m glad to those that got to enjoy this book, but it was just not for me。 I was hoping for some jaw dropping faerie fantasy plot and OUTSTANDING characters, but sadly, I did not receive that。 。。。more
